Privacy notice
How we look after your data
Last updated 27 September 2026. This notice explains, as required by Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010, what SYOK Jobs collects when you join the list, why, and what you can do about it. Baca dalam Bahasa Melayu.
Who we are
SYOK Jobs (syokjobs.com) is run by SYOK in the Klang Valley, Malaysia. For anything about your data, email privacy@syokjobs.com.
What we collect
- What you type into the form: your name, email, mobile number (if given), current or recent role, years of experience, expected salary, skills, where you live, how you get to work and the longest commute you'll accept.
- That you ticked the agreement on the form (which includes this notice), which version of it, and when.
We don't ask for your IC number, photos or documents, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) looks at your browser to tell people from robots; we don't keep that information.
Why we use it
- To understand what you're looking for and find jobs that match your pay and commute.
- To contact you about those jobs and, if you agree, about a short interview on your job search.
- To count, in totals only, how many people want what, so we can improve the service.
We don't use your data for advertising, and we never sell it.
Who we share it with
- A company or licensed recruitment partner, only with your say-so. Before any introduction we tell you the company, the salary and the commute, and send your profile only if you say yes to that one introduction.
- Our service providers. Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the data for us. Their servers may be outside Malaysia; they process it only on our instructions.
- Where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
While you're looking for work with us, and for up to 24 months after you last update your profile. After that it is deleted automatically. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your choices
- See or correct your data: email us and we'll send you what we hold or fix it.
- Update your profile: fill in the form again with the same email; it replaces your old answers.
- Delete it or stop hearing from us: email us and we'll remove your profile.
We reply within 21 days. Giving us your data is voluntary, but without the required fields we can't match you to jobs.
Keeping it safe
Your profile is stored in one database that only SYOK can open. The email we get when you join holds only your name, role, years of experience and area, not your contact details or salary.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change matters to you, we'll ask you again.
